COURSE OVERVIEW

The Oak Brook 50th Anniversary Half-Marathon will challenge you with rolling hills, while providing you with a scenic tour of the Village of Oak Brook.

The course will start on wide city streets before heading onto 3 miles of soft crushed limestone trail through Fullersburg Woods. After leaving Fullersburg Woods, at about the halfway point of the race, the course will merge onto the asphalt-surfaced Oak Brook Bike/Running Path System for the rest of the Race. The Race will finish in Oak Brook’s wooded Central Park.

Note: Course Time Limit - For safety reasons, the Half-Marathon course will be open for 4 hours. Also, runners who do not cross the intersection of 31st Street and Jorie Blvd by 9:00 AM (approximately 6.75 miles into the race - a 17 minute 45 second pace) will be directed back to the Finish Line Area (about 1/2 mile away).

AID STATIONS

Water and "Clif Shot Electotlyte Replacement Drink" will be on the course at approximately the Start Line, at seven Aid Stations located along the course, and at the Finish Line. We will offer "Clif Shot Energy Gel" shortly after the 8.0 mile mark.

PLAY-BY-PLAY

The Half-Marathon course will start eastbound on Kensington Road, near Kensington Court. Runners will turn left (north) onto Jorie Blvd., right (east) onto 22nd Street, and right (south) onto York Road. At 31st Street, runners will turn right (east) onto 31st Street and enter Fullersburg Woods for a 3-mile stretch. Runners will exit Fullersburg Woods turning right (north) onto Spring Road, then turn left (west) onto 31st Street. The course then follows running/bike paths, heading west on 31st Street to Midwest Road, south to 35th Street, west to Meyers Road, north back to 31st Street, east to Midwest Road, north toward Route 88, and east under the Route 83 viaduct. After clearing the viaduct, the course will trace the western and southern edges of the McDonalds Soccer Fields, and cross the bridge into Central Park for the finish.
